Just another night. Category: Uncategorized
"Its not often another with the gift comes to see me.."the aged voice croaked as the young woman shut the door behind her as she entered the shop. Removing her cloak burnished copper skin covered in tattoos was revealed, her crimson locks flowing down her back to brush the swell of her hips as she moved through the cluttered shop to the back. Parting the hanging scarves a smile crossed her luscious lips which parted as she spoke "When you have no patron to guide you, seeing your own way becomes muddled" she answered sweetly leaning down to touch foreheads with the older woman, closing her eyes a moment letting their energies mingle and greet each other before she pulled away to sit down. "You are worried about never finding your patron" the woman stated matter of factually as the young woman poured the tea for them both nodding "I am twenty two winters old and have never felt a pull nor call, perhaps I am meant to live as a void forever" she answered with a small sigh as she took a drink of her tea. "Wuyi Narcissus Oolong Tea, a fine choice this time Brethia" she complimented before setting her cup down looking at the woman who smiled indulgently "I knew you would need its comfort. But child you cannot rush such a thing, some are lucky to have a straightforward calling from birth but the rare ones such as yourself who have the possibility of any of the gods? You must take your time because once you accept a marking you are never free of them even in death." Dia knew the woman spoke true but she had been feeling restless and her powers were growing each day, they were becoming harder to control without a gods influence.
Dia and the woman sat together for a few hours after their tea was gone, Brethia had become like a mother to Dia ever since her adoptive parents abandoned her at the age of ten when she started showing signs of being different. Everyone in the world knew about those who were different, those who were only half human or even less but it did not mean everyone accepted it and her adoptive parents were some of those. When brethia had found Dia wandering the streets she had taken the young girl in and raised her like her own and taught her about who she was, her powers and what she could become one day. Even now as a grown woman Dia still came to her when she needed guidance or she was simply feeling dismayed as she was now. After leaving the shop Dia wandered the streets, her mind drifting to the point where she lost track of where she was; it wasn't until she caught the sense of death that she snapped out of her thoughts. Her eyes flashed in the streetlight as she watched as four shapes zipped around her, they would be invisible to the human eye but her sight was slightly better due to her own influence and the magic Brethia breathed into her shop. A sneer crossed her lips "draugr..."she hissed as her fingers caressed one of the tattoos along her stomach causing a blade to form from her flesh.
Dia had no beef with any of the supernatural that lived around her but some of them had no care for others and simply existed with animalistic desires. Her eyes flicked around her as they surrounded her, snarling drooling disgusting beasts she knew she had to dispatch them quickly or they would wear her down and kill her. Whispering a prayer to the unanswering gods she moved with lightening speed, striking the first draugr across the throat before slamming her hand against its chest and sending a shot of straight power through its undead heart jumping back as it shuddered and exploded. Her hand tingled from the remnants of her power but she didn't stop, this time she channeled her magic down her blade and slammed it up into the creature's chest cavity; she letting out a cry of pain as the claws of one of the remaining beasts swiped across her back tearing the flesh. Directing some of her power to the wound she burned out the infection that had already started to set in as she flipped the first to last of the creatures slamming her blade into its chest before turning on the one who had attacked her.
The last of her beasts stood close to seven feet which was massive compared to her but she wasn't worried, clenching her fists she began speaking in the language of her homeland and runes appeared all over her flesh. Lightening lit up the sky and a single bolt struck her body and she instantly redirected it to the beast causing it to seize up paralyzed momentarily. Using the moment to her advantage she leapt at the beast slamming her fingers into its chest as she wrapped her legs around its waist as she gripped its heart and pushed lightening into the organ as she growled, her lips moving as she chanted. It wasn't long until the organ busted and the creature crumpled with her on top of it, panting hard she looked down with a tired smile "Og forbli død" she said before pulling herself up and blowing gently letting flames leave her lips and turn the bodies to ash. Sealing off the flames she closed her eyes and took a deep breathe before turning away from the ashes and walking herself home, she sent a raven to Brethia letting her know about the draugrs close to her home before stripping down and throwing her now ruined clothes into the fire before settling herself in a steaming bath for the night.
