It was but another night when Ilduin found himself restless his young mind consumed by strange erratic dreams that seemed to seep into his very soul. The dream was so very vivid in which night after night he would watch helpless as a darkness swept over a tranquil and peaceful seeming valley. He watched as shining city that stood proud at it's heart crumbled to ruin as the waters turned from crystal blue to the darkest black, he had ever seen. He felt a sense of pain and anguish wash over him as all life within the vale was extinguished not simply killed but consumed. He could do nothing as a cacophony of screams began to echo throughout the Vale as he would be forced to watch as both noble warriors and innocent civilians would fall to their knees their bodies withering and decaying into nothing but dried empty husks. As a dark presence that 'lived' within the growing shadow turned it's attention to him he felt it coming closer and closet until he woke with a start. His breathing labored his body drenched in sweat as sat bolt upright looking around the dim outline of his room basked in moonlight the fires long since burned out. His entire body ached as he reached for a glass pitcher on his bedside table it slipped from his hands falling towards the floor. As he watched it fall it was as though time itself began to slow the water and it's vessel coming to a sudden halt but inches from the ground. He studied it in disbelief when he heard someone clearing their throat. He looked up to see a young girl standing before the mirror in his room she seemed his ages perhaps a few years younger. Her pale features framed by hair that seemed the color of fire itself, her eyes the most piercing blue. Her attire was foreign to him but familiar in a strange way a bracelet upon her wrist held what appeared to be anceint glyphs or wording of some kind. Her slender lips formed silent words as he strained to hear the words followed disjointed though clear,

"It is coming....You must find it before it is too late, you must claim that which was lost..." He opened his mouth to answer only to realize as he stumbled from his bed the girl was not standing before the mirror but within it. He went to speak only to hear the pitcher shatter upon the floor shards of glass and water splashing all along his leg. He looked up only to see the girl had vanished,

"Madness...Utter madness find what? who are you and how the hell did you get here...?"He was not sure why the words poured out from his mouth it was as though some great force had stopped him. Sitting back on the edge of his bed he began picking out the shards of glass from his bloodied leg as he hoped he did not stir the rest of his family with this insanity. Standing with a slight limp he made his way to the wash basin he dipped his hands into the icy cool of the water as he splashed the water upon his face. How many days and nights had been tormented by these dreams tearing into his sanity and even now he was struggling to tell if he was truly awake or still sleeping. He took a slow deep breath until he heard a voice once more behind him it was haunting yet familiar.

"You are a strange one Dragon...Younger than I expected.. Yet the fates are not without their reasons." Ilduin remained rooted and still picking up a knife from the table he pressed it to his palm he felt the searing pain as a trickle of blood formed along the blade trickling between his fingertips. He hear a soft melodic laugh echo through the room,

"No...not a dream, well not this time or is it? After all what is a dream and what is reality but the opposite sides of a mirror." Ilduin kept his eyes fixed on the water refusing to turn and look at her,

"Who are you and what do you want?" The girl gave out a sigh and within a heartbeat he felt her close behind him so close her warm breath washed over him,

"Nymiah is my name as to what I want well I am but a humble messenger a warning if you would here to do what I must in my father's stead. Why would you listen if it was a man that brought you this message or perhaps it is my age I can change if it bothers you.?" Ilduin tried to soak in all that she said as he felt her slender hand upon his shoulder and felt a warmth wash through him as he dropped the blade the wound began to heal as did the minor lacerations to his leg.

"Nymiah you say I have heard that name somewhere..I think? You say your father sent you who is he and what is it you want from me?" He turned to see her close to him as real and corporeal as him though there was something about her he could not place,

"My father is no longer able to interfere there is a price for all things and he is bound for eternity. Yet I came to you to warn you of the Darkness that is coming unless the beacon of Light is lit and barriers restored it will not only consume that realm but all." Ilduin studied her a slight scowl forming on his lips,

"You speak in riddles if you are here to prevent some great evil why not seek out my siblings they are by far older and more powerful." Nymiah gave a faint smile it reminded him of an older being pitying him,

"A dragon of innocence and virtue will stand on one side to oppose the Darkness so it was foretold many times two Dragon's will decide the fate of that realm and by extension all the realms beyond. So it was written so it must be." Ilduin crossed his arms across his chest,

"I see..Well assuming you are correct who told you this your nameless father? So what am I to do?" The young redhead pressed a finger to his lips,

"My father's name holds a power of it's own but I will tell you and only you.." She swooped aound him her lips to his ear as she whispered one single word, "Merlin..." It was a name he had seen many times in his studies of the ancient arcane lore a name etched in many a story, a myth.

"Me...Mer..Merlin he muttered, the merlin the sorcerer." She chuckled at the look on his face, "Yes and much, much more yet you have much to do you will seek out the lands of Camelot within the Vale you have much to do and even know the Darkness is reaching out to snuff you out before you become too big of a problem."  Ilduin stepped back into the dresser in disbelief,

"Camelot now I know you are insane that place is but a myth a legend..Next you will be telling me that Excalibur is real." She tilted her head her face etched in bemusement,

"Indeed and you shall need that as well but my time grows short..I shall not be holding your hand this whole time gather any companions you can you must leave and trust few for the Shadow has agent's everywhere." She thrust an ornately engraved book into his hands and as she did the entire world began to spin and shift he felt as though he was falling only to find himself landing on the floor beside his bed hitting his head with a sickening thud. Dazed and confused he looked around the girl was gone, pulling himself up his hand touched the bedside table his fingertips touching the glass pitcher he held his held his head,

"A dream? Or have I lost my mind...?" He turned to the dresser only to see sat upon it the ornate book that Nymiah had given him sat waiting he stepped backbumping into the table and heard the pitcher hall behind him shattering once more this time he moved away before the shards hit him. Still in a state of confusion he moved to the book picking it up he felt as though his very life had now changed forever.
